Nulty Funeral Home was established in 1888 when James T. Nulty began to offer his services as "Practical Embalmer and Undertaker" in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. In 1905, the business moved to the corner of Frankford Avenue and Church Street where it stood for over 115 years proudly serving the Frankford community. Also in 1905, John Nulty joined his father in the funeral home at the age of 16 and began to learn the family business. The tradition continued as John's son James came into the business in 1938, and James Jr. in 1965.
In 1985 James Jr’s son-in-law, Paul Mundy, joined Jim in serving the families of Frankford. In 2002, shortly before Jim’s retirement, Paul assumed the responsibilities of ownership of Nulty Funeral Home. Paul’s daughter, Jim’s granddaughter, Sarah, began working at the funeral home in 2009 becoming the sixth generation in the family to serve the community.
In 2022 Nulty Funeral Home moved to it’s new location, one mile away, 2614 Orthodox Street.
Since their first funeral in 1888, the Nultys have served thousands of families as they face the difficult task of saying goodbye to a loved one.
