Barbara Lynn DiDonato was born on May 14, 1956 and passed away June 4, 2021 surround by her husband and close family. Funeral is to be held at St. Martin of Tours on Monday June 14th. Viewing is at 10:00am and Mass is at 11:00am. Masks are requested for all attendees.
She passed peacefully after a long battle with Schleroderma. Barbara was born in Philadelphia to August Joseph and Joan Ann Marchetti. She attended and graduated from Frankford High School, where in 1972 she met and began dating Perry DiDonato. They married in September of 1976 and have remained married until her passing.
Barbara was a loving wife, sister and aunt; all who knew her loved and adored her. She had an infectious laugh and the ability to build bridges between people. She was the kindest soul you could meet. If you visited her home she made sure you had a meal and a cup of tea. When you needed help, she was the first to show up.
Barbara helped care for everyone including her mother-in-law, Marie DiDonato and her own mother, Joan Ann Marchetti. She was always there when you needed her. She was always a phone call away.
Barbara is survived by: Perry, her husband, She is also survived by her siblings: Joann Smock, August Joseph Marchetti, Jr., Donna Marchetti and her youngest brother Joseph Marchetti as well as numerous nieces and nephews on the Marchetti side of the family. She is also survived by her sister in law Lorraine and numbers nieces and nephews on the DiDonato side of the family. Barbara was best-friend, since childhood, to Joanie Rolling Whiteman. Barbara also leaves behind her faithful dog, Penny, who was always at her side. Her parents and her brother John have previously transitioned from this world.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Monday, June 14, 2021 after 10am at St. Martin of Tours Church (Upper), 5450 E. Roosevelt Blvd., Phila., PA 19124. Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Masks are required for all attendees.
