John M. O’Brien Jr.

O'BRIEN John M. O’Brien Jr., on December 13, 2021. John was born on April 7th, 1958 to the Late John M. O’Brien Sr. And the Late Claire H. O’Brien (nee Novotny). Father of John M. O’Brien III, Rebecca O’Brien (Ray), and the Late Clairemont H. O’Brien. Grandfather of Nicholas Unger Jr. and Kayleigh Westgate. Longtime Boyfriend of Rita Wilkins. Preceded in death by his sisters Colleen and Donna. Survived by his brothers Patrick, Christopher, and Terence. Also survived by many nieces, and nephews. John was a loving Son, Father, Grandfather, Boyfriend, Brother, Uncle, Family Man, and Friend. He was hardworking at Nabisco for over 39 years, till the Philadelphia plant closed. He was a U.S. Navy vet, proud to have served his country. He marched in the Mummers parade with the 12 steppers for 30+ years. He was also active in the community as a Republican Committee Man. John loved spending time with his family and friends, and meeting new people. Those who knew him well, called him by his middle name Mike or by his nickname O’B. Everyone he met he befriended. He loved to talk and tell people his life story. He will be deeply missed by so many who loved him.  Relatives and friends are invited to John's viewing Friday, December 17, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at our NEW LOCATION, 2614 Orthodox Street, Phila., PA 19137 and Saturday 9:00 AM at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 7400 Castor Ave. Phila. PA 19152.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM.  Entombment with Military Honors will be 9:30 am SHARP, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.  Please arrive at the cemetery office by 9:15 AM if you plan to attend the service.
