KENNEDY Joseph K. Kennedy Sr. of Langhorne passed away on Thursday 11/4/2021 at age 83 with his wife Leah and family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was the loving son of Abraham and Anna Kennedy. He is survived by his devoted wife Leah R Kennedy. Joseph was the brother of Elizabeth Harrison (Jerry) and her twin Charles (deceased). He leaves behind his son Joseph Kennedy, Jr, his wife Diane Kennedy, their children Ethan, Katie and Kelsey; daughter Cathy Johnston, her husband Bill, their daughter Lia Yeager and her husband Kyle; niece Andrea Drummond and her husband Craig, their children Craig, Jr and Genevieve; nephew Brian Kennedy, his wife Kim and their son Caelan. He also leaves behind many great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. Joseph proudly served his county in the Navy for 6 years; 42 months at sea. After discharge, he moved to Bucks County and began a 50 career in the insurance industry. He started with State Farm, then transitioned to his own independent agency. He then went on to be a founding partner of Little, Michaels and Kennedy, Inc. until his retirement. He served his community beginning at age 27, upon his election to the Bensalem Township School Board. He continued his service volunteering his time for many worthy causes. He served on the Board of Directors for the Villages of Flowers Mill, serving as President for 3 years. Prior to his retirement, Joseph enjoyed driving luxury automobiles, gardening, hunting and sport fishing. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed extensively traveling with his wife Leah, cooking, baking and fishing with his Grandson Ethan. In his later years, he was constantly with his devoted canine companion Piper and spent many days enjoying her unconditional love and companionship. He enjoyed many evening dinners and spirited conversations with his wife Leah and her sister Kate Esposito. Private inurnment will be held with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. The family requests donation be made to the Women’s Animal Center 3839 Richlieu Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020 in lieu of flowers.
