Monica was born in the Frankford section of Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of Frankford High School, Class of 1954. Monica met Jack, the love of her life, and they were married in 1957. They started their family the next year in Frankford, then moved to the Holme Circle area of Philadelphia where they enjoyed raising their family. Monica was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Isabella Council for many years. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Parish for over 50 years. She was a great cook and baker with her most requested items being Italian dishes and pound cake. Monica was a devoted Wife and Mother who always put her family first. She was always willing to help where needed. She enjoyed spending time with children and babysitting gave her special joy. She was a very involved grandmother attending school shows, sporting events, and recitals. She was eager to hear about their activities and supported them in every endeavor. She cherished her great-grandchildren and affectionately was titled Mom-Mom Peanut because when she greeted them as small children, she always called them “Peanut”. Spending time together was always precious to Monica, especially summer vacations in Sea Isle City, NJ with her family. To her, family was everything, and to her family, she was everything. It was Monica who made holidays special by carrying on customs and traditions. We will always remember her Christmas greeting of “Buon Natale” and stories around the dining room table.
