Patrick Michael Keenan

KEENANPatrick (Pat) Michael Keenan, 71, of Somerton PA died in peace on October 14th at Wyncote Place. Pat was the beloved husband of Liz (Laganella) Keenan. Pat was born in Frankford PA on February 26, 1950 to the late Andrew and Mary (Barry) Keenan. He was a graduate of North Catholic, Pennsylvania State University, and Philadelphia University. He worked for the Philadelphia Police Department until he retired in 1995. At that time, Pat began a second career as an educator at Cardinal Dougherty, Archbishop Wood, and Community College of Philadelphia where he taught technology courses.Pat enjoyed golfing, world travel, and spending time with his family. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children Kelly Dippolito (Nick), Patrick M Keenan Jr (Melissa), Mary Kate Zeleznock (Jeremy); 7 grandchildren Anthony, Grace, Vincent, Maeve, Nolan, Josie, Patrick (III); 2 sisters Mary Halpin, Claire Barnelli; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Andrew and Timothy.Pat's most prized successes were the successes and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He made sure all of them understood the importance of hard work and compassion.Relatives, friends and members of FOP Lodge #5 are invited to pay respects Thursday, October 21, 10:00 AM at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM.  Luncheon will immediately follow Mass.
