VISCO Rita D. Visco, a beloved wife, mother, and businesswoman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2023, in Philadelphia, the city of her birth and where she left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was born on January 6, 1931.Rita was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. Graduating from Little Flower High School in the class of 1948, she had to balance her education with her summer job on farms in New Jersey. Her strong work ethic shone through even in her formative years as she tirelessly picked tomatoes on those sunny days.After completing her education, Rita put her skills to work as a housemaker, immersing herself in the joys of creating a loving home for her family. Her prowess in the kitchen was legendary, and she became renowned as the greatest Italian cook among all who sat at her table. Sunday dinners were a cherished tradition for Rita's loved ones, where homemade pasta and delectable dishes filled their hearts and nourished their souls. And it wasn't just about the food; it was about family gatherings that became routine—a time for brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles to come together and revel in each other's company.Rita's contributions extended beyond the confines of her home as well. She stood side by side with her husband as his business partner and bookkeeper before assuming sole responsibility for their family real estate business. Rita's commitment to excellence and attention to detail ensured its success through the years.Those who knew Rita knew that love emanated from every fiber of her being. She possessed a deep capacity for love that extended not only to her immediate family but also to friends and guests who were always welcomed with open arms into her warm embrace. She was caring and kind-hearted, always going the extra mile to ensure that everyone around her felt valued and cherished. Rita's social nature thrived in entertaining others, and she took great pleasure in hosting unforgettable evenings filled with laughter, joy, and delectable treats for all.Beyond her domestic and professional accomplishments, Rita found solace and fulfillment in various hobbies and interests. She enjoyed the simple pleasure of shopping, finding delight in discovering treasures that would bring joy to others. Crocheting allowed her to express her creativity, weaving intricate patterns that showcased her talent and dedication. As life progressed, Rita embarked on travels that widened her horizons and enriched her spirit. And as technology evolved, she found solace in playing computer card games and engaging in traditional card games with friends. Her involvement in social clubs further highlighted her sociability and exemplified the genuine connections she forged throughout her life.Raising five boys was undoubtedly one of Rita's proudest accomplishments. She embraced the roles of mother and homemaker wholeheartedly, instilling in them values of love, respect, and perseverance. Her dedication reverberates through the lives of Michael Visco (Mary), Dr. David Visco, MD (Maritta), and their families. Rita's love extended to her grandchildren as well – Michael Jr., Robert, Celia, and Mark – whom she adored with all her heart.In grieving the loss of Rita D. Visco, we remember not only the remarkable woman she was but also the family she held dear. She is survived by her sons Michael and David Visco, along with their spouses Mary and Maritta respectively. Her sisters Mary Blank and Susan Frate lovingly remember their sister's vivacious spirit.Rita has reunited with her beloved husband Guido Visco Sr., whose presence was a beacon of strength throughout their journey together. Additionally, she joins her sons Guido Jr., Peter, Richard and her brother Pasquale Visco in eternal peace.Rita D. Visco will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, her infectious laughter, and her incredible ability to make everyone around her feel at home. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and resilience will continue to inspire generations to come.
