Robert Paul Goglia
1937-2023
Robert Paul “Bob” Goglia of Churchville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at Jefferson Abington Hospital at the age of 85 with his family by his side.
Bob was raised in Upper Darby, graduated Drexel University with honors with a B.S. in Accounting in 1960. He honorably served in the US Navy from 1955 - 1963 before beginning his professional career as a Senior Accountant at Ernst & Ernst. He then worked in various roles at Philco/Ford and Warner Lambert before launching his dental company, Lactona Corporation in 1980, and eventually retiring in 2010.
In his free time, Bob loved traveling, fishing, rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time at his shore home in Ocean City, NJ with family and friends. He was commonly known as “Toothbrush Bob” or the “Mayor of the 26th Street Beach,” where he often stopped to talk to everyone as he walked by. Everyone was his “buddy”. If he wasn’t chatting, he could be found playing around in the ocean with the grandkids, playing horseshoes, or body surfing the largest wave he could find. Bob also carried an unofficial title of a Costco Brand Ambassador.
He left his beloved wife Yvonne of 49 years and children Robert, David, and Yvonne; daughters in law, Ashley and Rachel and son in law, Tim; grandchildren Alex, Kaitlyn, Brandon, and Leighton; brother George, his wife Meri, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and his many friends. Bob was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Violet, and sister Dorothy.
